Your video could win $2,500! |
L’Oreal USA’s For Girls in Science website is offering girls the chance to create their own 30-60 second video telling why they are drawn to a particular area of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math). Students must be between the ages of 13-18 and all entries must be received by March 4, 2013.

The 2013 Young Scientists Challenge |
The 2013 Young Scientists Challenge, sponsored by Discovery Education 3M challenges students to use science and innovation to solve real world challenges. Open to students in grades 5 - 8, each participant will create a 1 - 2 minute video that explains his or her solution to an everyday problem. While the videos don’t need to be ‘produced’ they do need to reflect the student’s understanding of the scientific concept they are discussing.
10 finalists and up to 51 merit winners will be chosen. The 10 finalists will participate in a Summer Mentoring Program and be paired up with 3M scientists to complete a summer assignment related to innovation. The Challenge will conclude in October with a trip to Minnesota to present their completed project for judging.
The first place winner will receive $25,000 among other prizes. The Finalists, Runners up and Second place will also receive prizes. Entries are due by April 23, 2013 so register now!
